Get woke, go broke. It’s a popular term on the right, but to define this term means understanding a darker system at play. We can list so many times about using pronouns in video games1, narratives that denigrate straight white men2, or some other reason, but the question is “woke” isn’t the true devil behind this term. In William Peter Blatty’s seminal smash blockbuster novel “The Exorcist”, the young priest asks what evil entity is possessing the young girl, Regan. What makes this relevant is that to openly call out Satan, in exorcisms, you must ask it what’s the true evil underlying the real issue.
The real devil behind the term “woke” is ESG.
According to Westopedia, Economic, Social, Governance, is an investing term “used to screen investments based on corporate policies and to encourage companies to act responsibly.”3 So, the outcome is that most companies who follow these procedures want companies to appeal to massive audiences across the world, therefore covering up eccentricities or never create a provocative form of art, in order to not hurt foreign investments. But also, secretly, punishing, or censoring said art, any said company if they don’t. But if said company does, you will be rewarded.
My American, freedom of speech loving ass, would say: “Blow me you foreign pieces of shit.” But the professional side of me sees why companies will actively destroy their own business model to have money. It’s greed. People want to make money. But why would anyone want to censor themselves to make money. No one will take a risk unless they don’t have anything to lose.
To call it “woke” has become too trendy. ESG, now means to me, Ever So Gay, because promoting censorship in order to attain higher funds, is inviting my middle finger in the face of Ever So Gay companies, like Disney, to blow me from Richmond Virginia to California.
So, Ever So Gay, is ESG, to me, because most foreign companies are so backward it’s almost endearing. The outcome is that artists are being censored to avoid punishment by said company, in order to secure their investments. Even Bandai Namco’s Dark Souls, was once called Dark Race. They changed it in order to avoid “lawsuits” when Hidetaka Miyazaki didn’t even mean that to begin with. So, the unfortunate schema, the reality, is that I don’t fear the devil.
I know its true name.

2023’s Bethesda Starfield and Call of Duty: Cold War are two examples, but Cold War at least used the pronouns in a clever way.
Netflix’s Dear White People is one example, but at some points it did understand it’s own racism, at times.
