As a disillusioned Star Wars appreciator, as I was always aware of the series, even had some of the toys of Luke and Han Solo, the consequence of any fandom is being aware of the highs and lows.
i Would be AMAZED if Disney gave up Star Wars. For one, a corporation isn't likely to relinquish anything, especially not something like Star Wars. For another, everything they did to Star Wars was done on purpose. They knew it was trash and that everyone would hate it, but theyre playing the long game and setting up their Marxist worldview as the new normal.
And Jar Jar really could've been the best thing about the prequel trilogy (if the rumors are true.) if they hadn't pussed out of making him the Anti-Yoda.
I think when they tried to spread an anti-capitalist message in it, I was like "Hold up. Wait a minute." I could see kind of a pro-capitalist message about Dune, and Dune does allegory well. Star Wars is a kids film. It doesn't have the substance to be as dark as it can. I think it has emotion, but I'm really happy about it, and I want Star Wars to be in the hands of the master rather than the stewards. Long Live the Jedi!
