I have never heard that one before. For me, if we're talking about the early 2000's, it would be, for me, Donnie Darko. It's a movie that has somehow stood the test of time, because I can relate to everyone in the movie, because every millennial has somehow been in a therapy room. Given drugs that don't work. Family problems. I can't attack the politics of the time because it's part of the story. It's important to the story. Somehow it's a film so aware of itself, while trying to confuse the audience, too.

This is a film that doesn't get enough praise, because so many films can't be Donnie Darko.

ill have to check it out. ive never seen Donnie Darko but i hear its praise a lot. i guess im just not sure what "Cult film" even means. i guess it means obscure or niche, and Six String Samurai certainly fits the bill there. Maybe Killer Klowns from Outer Space, but that doesn't even seem obscure anymore. i think EVERYONE has seen and loves that movie at this point. ill have to noodle this over awhile.
