The WarHammer 40 K Situation: The War for the Emperor and the Soul of all Hobbyists
In an era where Star Wars, The Witcher, Doctor Who, Marvel, Disney, have all managed to become parodies of their former self, forcing gender diversity quotas into films that barely meet the grade. Lazy writers force themselves into the character, for example, Iron Man, but have no background on the character or the comics related to Iron Man’s character. It comes as no blind assumption that once a series goes mainstream, studios will ultimately want to change it in order to betray the core idea for a profitable income at the box office or streaming services subscription end goal. But the next franchise the mainstream is eyeing is none other than fantasy table top series War Hammer 40 K.
WarHammer 40 K, created by Rick Priestly joined Citadel Miniatures, with the help of Dungeons and Dragons franchise to create the series miniatures. Ranging from Fantasy to Sci-Fi epics, coursing over ten editions since 1983, and spanning through multiple genres, including video games and novels. Depending where you play, the table top can have mountains, plains, rivers, and must be played on a board with miniatures.
The big concern is that War Hammer 40 K must create a female squadron to meet some diversity quota. The Lore of the Space Marine logic is that women could not handle the psychological and physical transformation it takes to fight for the Emperor against the Tyranids.
But the phenomonem of WarHammer is now at risk of becoming a series, which for me, having only read a few of the novels, is enough to show concern over how an entire streaming/Hollywood industry is hell bent on changing IP’s to fit a modern agenda.
