There’s nothing more irksome than pretending that a hack director who thinks his directors cuts are the end all be all of cinema. And nothing is more pretentious than filmmakers, like Taika Waititi, on social media dictating that “I watch directors cuts of a lot of directors. They suck. Directors need to be controlled sometimes.”
