Edward Snowden and the Question of Principles
-For the Uncensored!
While this may be an old issue, the facts surrounding Edward Snowden, made by democrats is an impossible defeat for the Military Industrial Complex. Rewind your mind back to 2013. When the Obama Administration was at its lowest approval rating, “41 percent” according to Gallup polls.[i] The distrust between America and the government was rising among concerned Americans. Especially when it involves Principles.
Once Americans knew their apple phones and corporate cell networks were tracking them in collusion with big government, it’s what most science fiction writers feared. There comes a time when principles must stand for everything. There are major and minor moments. Sometimes it’s telling on a co-worker who is harassing you at the work place, saying racist things, but in the end, only creates a more hostile work environment, resulting in more tension. While that is minor, sometimes it’s telling corporations that you don’t want a product anymore, in the case of Netflix’s Cuties. According to the New York Post, October 20, 2020, “nearly 800 percent”[ii] of cancellations occurred when Cuties premiered. This is a layered idea that takes years to unwrap, like an onion, revealing all have their breaking point. Principles.
Now all of this is very minor, but a crucial moment is also about principles. Sometimes your principles don’t make money. Sometimes the dishonor in serving in the spy unit that Edward Snowden served in, paid a heavy toll on his mental and physical health. But that’s when secrets are kept. A secret is usually a secret because someone is embarrassed about there actions. Whatever example is presented, a man like Edward Snowden came to a cross roads. To tell the truth while being spurned by the American government that he was a spy, and a traitor.
What any normal person would have done is quit and share the story with the papers, so that he wouldn’t face a heavy penalty. But most governments swear there agents to secrecy. They can’t reveal this information because it might get someone hurt. We’re not here to debate whether Snowden’s actions might have hurt American foreign image, because it did. Spying on foreign governments as well as our own people. To watch over “terrorist activity” in emails. President Obama, at the time of the google hack, accepted and claimed the charge that the government was doing this.
The whirlwind of Edward Snowden is the imminent danger of anyone who is daring to raise an opinion against the government. As Michael Malice said, “I hate my government because I love my country.”[iii] And Edward Snowden told the truth. His principles cost him everything.
One could argue, through this lens, that Edward Snowden wanted to use his freedom of speech to help correct the misguided actions of the National Security Agency. Alex Gibney’s documentary, “Zero Days” even details the men who served were more like “nerds, with “Aqua Teen Hunger Force dolls on their desk” as the NSA hired immature children headed there security force around the world.[iv] To watch American citizens as well as anyone else. This is only one layer of the corruption placed during Snowden’s existence.
What is odd is that time is often remembered for those who managed to survive and tell their side of the story. Edward Snowden has done very well for himself. He works, while living in Russia on a work VISA. What doesn’t surprise me is that people like Jen Psaki have existed far longer than most have remembered.
I was never aware of Jen Psaki before 2020, as much of politics for me was a misnomer. I was more focused on fiction writing, trying to get published, and self-publishing fiction while working at jobs. This is the final layer of the cake before the icing is placed on the cake.
But a video, postmarked from 8 years ago on RT’s YouTube page is clear. Much of the video is then Jen Psaki dancing around the question posed by a journalist, “Do you think Snowden has the right to freedom of speech?”[v] She did dance around it, before she was “circle back” Psaki.
What the dishonor at that time is that democrats, who should have been about freedom of speech, and allowing people like Edward Snowden his chance to at least have his freedom of speech. But in the rest of the world, as Snowden is praised, he’s vilified by the government that employed him for many years. Jen Psaki gleefully dances around the question for twenty minutes not breaking protocol from the proscribed group think DC perspective. Since he was not a “journalist or activist” Psaki claimed he was not a whistleblower.
What is breathtaking about the interview is that the reporter dared to question her, and even his words in the video were, “This is a slippery slope we are on” and how prophetic were these words. When Americans faced persecution for a January 6th invasion hoax, which had nothing to do with the people in custody, still held without representation or a due court date, there’s no reason why Snowden fled to Russia.
The US government tortures those it loves the most. Even Michael Malice, author of the New Right says, “If someone steals something, the police will file a police report and nothing will happen.” He begs the question, “why should I have to pay for this”[vi] unreliable failure in society, including police that won’t help you get your possessions back. It’s a good question.
No one should. But that moment of principle is what will define the future, and Snowden’s adoration by the public at large still troubles the United States government. The sad thing is nothing has changed. Not the democrats and there censorious nature is not winning over the American people. If a recording from eight years ago remain the same artifact from that time, they don’t have much room to stand on. It still shines as Jen Psaki pretends to care about freedom of speech, and I don’t speak for her, but she says more through her status quo attitude, and she hasn’t changed at all. That’s what is amazing about the video. Jen Psaki doesn’t care and still doesn’t deepen over time.
Liberals might fail to understand this, but Jen Psaki is the progressive stance on life. They don’t care about freedom of speech. The progressives don’t want you to publish or have a social media page. Banning on one platform means you should be banned on all. That’s Jen Psaki, and no matter if this was eight years ago, or today, she’s the same person. Edward Snowden is still in Russia, and would possibly never have a fair trial. As long as the Democrats are concerned.
And we come back to principles. They do guide our decisions in life, and the principles you carry, will define your actions. Snowden is a hero, and Jen Psaki is still the same witch talking down to America. And guess what, we live in America, and the democrats have never changed. Because Jen Psaki’s Principles are clear. A spiteful old press secretary and Snowden is a megastar. Someone who has paid the price for his principles.
Time has not been kind to Ms. Psaki, or her hair.
