In the opening shots of a busy crowd of developers all huddled around computers, with familiar developers Hugo Martin, smiling as anyone should, because id software’s “Doom The Dark Ages” resembles a new turning point for the DOOM franchise. Graphically, creatively, and technologically.

Leading the developer direct was Hugo Martin, developer of both modern DOOM (2016) and Doom Eternal (2020). “Innovation, craftsmanship, and performance,” is id’s core philosophy and a “priority to this day,” boasts Marty Stratton.

DOOM: The Dark Ages, takes place in a “cinematic sci fi world” that serves as a prequel for “Doom 2016.” The main points are addressed as Combat, Exploration, and Story.
