-For the Uncensored!
In all of Berserk’s universe, much of the punishment that happens to the characters is cyclical. As we see Casca taken away, we experience from her perspective, being snatched by Griffith. Only she’s treated less like a prisoner, but in her own state, more like a queen. She’s garbed in a beautiful scaled dress, like she’s a creature to be respected and loved. Griffith is nowhere to be found. She’s given a full course meal, let alone to walk through the court yard, play with the children. Only she’s pushed into sleep, further, as she tries to resist her captors, but then it becomes another dream. So, is this is the technique of the Hawk luring Casca into a deep slumber, or is he pushing her toward a slumber where she might never remember Guts, Schierke, or those who helped her regain her sanity. But Irvine reports that “the bird is dozing peacefully in her cage. Her flight over.”
It’s almost so visual and little to no dialogue. To me, this represents Griffith at his most peculiar. He has Casca, holding her hostage, and forcing Guts into a questionable position. It’s time to adapt or die. We still don’t have a clue if Casca might be able to fight Griffith’s power, because her psyche isn’t still healed. Only she does resist, and it’s going to mean Casca’s journey is still an internal struggle.
As for April 28th, 2023, there is no idea whether Guts might make it out of the Berserker armor, or whether Casca is even in a position to defend herself against Griffith’s powers. Griffith almost has Casca like a trophy prize, and it’s kind of erotic, too. But it’s all very visual, but not really giving any clues as to what could happen next. Almost excluding exposition in order to present Casca in such a sexualized manner, since before the Eclipse in volume 13.
The only complaint is seeing Zodd look like ass, but otherwise, I will take the very visual chapter, as it’s not out of lock step with the story, itself.
