For the past twenty years, Assassin’s Creed has devoured an entire generation of players, as the backdrops range from Ancient Jerusalem, Italy, Constantinople, 1776 Boston and the Caribbean’s Golden Age of Piracy, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Revolutionary France, Victorian London, Ancient Egypt/Greece/Norway, and now Feudal Japan, the worlds gamers have inhabited have been astounding as they are confusing. From a linear narrow campaign to huge 60 plus hour open game world, where you can travel by boat or horse, now have reached a crossroads.

Ubisoft, their publisher, have made more losses than they have successes. The Ancient Myth trilogy had only one good game, Origins, as Odyssey and Valhalla, suffered from bloat and too much world to inhabit. The condition is that more gameplay equaled more story. Ubisoft have held a tight reign, ever since its inception on November 13th, 2007. The series was praised for their parkour climbing system, where players could climb any number of buildings, in order to open up the locations on the in game radar. The series had many strong protagonists—Altair (from AC 1, AC Chronicles, AC Bloodlines, and Revelations), Etzio (AC 2, Brotherhood, AC 2: Discovery, and Revelations), Bayek (AC Origins) and the only dual characters, Jacob and Evie Frye (AC Syndicate), and Basim (AC Mirage).
