Art and Culture # 98: The Passion of the Ye

It’s not like Kanye West and his history hasn’t created some of the most popular and genre defining music that can be said. Dabbling in techno with Daft Punk remixing “Better Faster Stronger” and the church related bible thumper, “Jesus Walks” with lines like “We’re rappers we don’t think.” But has also put his career into being a counter culture influence. From tangoing with politicians like George HW Bush, as he said, in the middle of an MTV interview, “George HW Bush doesn’t care about Black people” all the way through stealing an award moment from Taylor Swift, as the famous words Ye said, “Congratulations, but I’m a let you finish, but Beyonce had the best video of all time.” Which led to one of the best videos ever, Famous, off his Life of Pablo album.
Another hilarious moment that was memed into existence. Later on, Taylor Swift even went onto diss Kanye West again, as to reveal they all made the situation up, and Taylor Swift immediately, upon hearing her voice, went radio silent, proving that Ye was right. Also his life supporting President Trump and being friends with Candace Owens, a black conservative for the Daily Wire, wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-Shirt at a gala, means one thing. Kanye West is the King of Controversy. A Drama King with the crown of all the worlds hatred as his jewels, from both right and left politicians.
Recently in his controversial period of 2022, his comments on Twitter and rapper Norega’s podcast concerning the “Jewish media” led to every major sponsor cancelling him. Even Adidas, which I didn’t even know people wore anymore.
Point is, you can’t cancel someone who has meant so much to the culture. It’s worse than the hatred Mel Gibson had, and at least he was allowed to come back after a drunken anti-Semitic conversation with a “police officer.”[1]

But the thing is, cancelling someone’s entire previous musical history is not going to change bad behavior. It never will. But apologizing doesn’t work anymore, either. It’s hard to pretend that the phrase, “Jewish Media” doesn’t sound like Nazi Germany, but the reality is simple. If the media will most likely cancel artists for even saying the word “Jewish Media”, as repugnant as the phrase is, it doesn’t mean that Kanye West isn’t talented.

Because if we can start cancelling people, then I have a huge list of people that I can sue that have fucked with me, in my past. And you know how stupid that sounds, right?
Personally, I do defend Kanye’s right to say what he thinks and feels, because someone should be able to do that for my writing. Because if I’m not offered the chance to have my voice heard and tell people like Lyor Cohen, co-founder of Def Jam, to go fuck himself for screwing over so many artists, and blaming him for ruining lots of lives, then this isn’t a world I don’t want to live in. And telling Jeff Zucker to go fuck himself and his obvious direction that led CNN, to be once respectable news source, is now a fake news center that will belong in a museum for one section of society.
A genocide on free speech is happening, and no one is going to say it. Freedoms once lost will never be had, again. If you can’t handle what I say, then you’re not getting the point. If we don’t defend the likes of Kanye West, freedom of speech is lost. Lost not once to cowardice, but twice to a bullet to the brain from gestapo nazi’s run by democratic officials in “democrat” run cities. But Kanye West said, “we’re rappers we don’t think” but Kanye West does.

Calling it "Jewish Media" is what gets people. In reality its just a few influential families, who all happen to be Jewish. The Rothschilds, Bilderbergs, etc. And the fact that most of our country' wealth is funneled into Israel isn't exactly good optics either. But I'm going to go on record as "Kanye Did Nothing Wrong." They (The Left) are the ones who decided to make this all about race and ethnicity. "White people bad. America bad. West bad." But break out the manilla envelopes with the paper trails then all of a sudden they want to start clutching their pearls. They're constantly starting shit that they can't finish. And its odd, isn't it, that our entire civilization has made criticizing, demonizing, and vilifying White People its North Star and that's fine, but Kanya saying "Jewish Media" (An Objectively True Statement) gets him ostracized from society and mass canceled by all major corporations. I don't know about anyone else, but my noggin is a joggin'!

This is weird so I'm gonna write a second response to you.
1. I think people need to realize that all hatred exists. No matter what. We can't stop hatred but we can identify things that do make us upset. You can't cancel someone who is merely speaking his mind. I am a product of rap and hip hop and it would dumb of me to want to cancel a rapper, on any reason. It's like when Tipper Gore and C. Delores Tucker tried to ban NWA and Ice T. It's so beyond unreasonable. Even if they say things I don't agree with, either. I was listening to 50 Cent, and he kind of defended Kanye but criticized him too, but the thing is, Columbia cancelled 50 Cent back in 99 when his shooting happened, and he survived, but they dropped him. Shelving the Power of the Dollar. A truly underrated album in rap. Definitely recommend anyone listen to that album.
2. The left don't want anyone to have anything. The boomers and X generation did such a fantastic job of bringing down the empire they loved so much. And they won't let you or me in the door but some blue haired feminize that doesn't care bout freedom of speech or how much I have to spend on my grocery and electric bill. If the left weren't doing what the right did back in the 90's I would be a lefty, still. But they aren't. I left, and that's that.
3. The left are just as racist as anyone else. Hell, there is so much antisemitism on the left it would take me all day to unpack it. Luckily I have other things to do. lol.
