Art and Culture # 44: The Arbiter of Truth and Censorship
-For the Uncensored!
Art is freedom. No one should ever tell you different. For years, long before the millennials and the zoomers, and the boomers and the Gen-Exer’s, governments have always wanted to control the narrative. The Catholic Church does this as well. Catholics go to the Bible to know what is in the Bible. There’s always a sense that we always look for the truth. Faith is based on a belief system, but we shouldn’t disregard belief either. But people, no matter what people think, art is a summation of what we see in life. We want to have and hold the truth, because it matters to us in Art. In Umberto Eco’s “The Prague Cemetery” the nameless conspirator character is retelling a time when he learned about Conspiracies from his grandfather. “This led me to think, even then, that if I wanted to sell the story of a conspiracy, I didn’t have to offer the buyer anything original, but simply something he already knew or could have found out more easily in other ways. People believe only what they already know, and this is the beauty of the Universal Form of Conspiracy.”[i]
Because Arbiter’s of Truth seem to be the buzz word since man could buy his own printing press and publish whatever he wanted. A singular entity holding control, a monopoly, over all press and freedom of speech is the building blocks behind the United States freedom of speech, and the Constitution. Freedom of Speech allows us to become our own Arbiters of Truth, allowing us to answer to no one. No one at CNN gets to have freedom of speech, since that’s why they hate independent commentators, shit talkers, and journalists alike.
Until you have lost the ability to create Art, you have felt the weight of censorship loom over your fingers and head. People need to be able to create Art and read and write the way they want. People shouldn’t be censored, but it does exist. Since man was drawing on caves, expression is what helps history and literature and painting meet. It’s telling a story. The left will do what they want to control Art and the narrative they prepare from the visage beyond the scares that no longer dictate normal people. No one is afraid of relying on big name publishers anymore. Nobody has to publish with a publisher anymore, they can create there own. Just find people and connect. But that’s hard too, if you’re a self-destructive person.
Being self-destructive makes things worse, and being an Arbiter of Truth is hard when you are a provocateur, which I would never claim to be. Only in jest, because without humor, we would all be dead, and the truth is boring. Truth can be provocative at times, but also it must be said, plainly. It’s a mirror we don’t like to look into until we have reached rock bottom, covered in vomit, after all the partying of our 20’s wears off. And the sad truth remains. But stories remind us that there are good things to look forward to. To have hope.
On a personal level, my mother always calls any form of entertainment, whether it’s movies, books, video games, a story. When she called a film a story, I was irate and growing up, correcting it thinking I was so important. But I have to agree that stories can exist in any medium. But if someone was to just walk over to my bed, where I’m writing, and then say, “Well you shouldn’t make fun of Joe Biden,” because in America we have that right for freedom of speech and press.
The printing press, as Jimmy Dore compares social media to. As Jen Psaki thinks I and many others who disagree with her should be banned, why should I care about her freedoms? I think I should be able to have the right to sue Jen Psaki for her inability to see basic human empathy. And who is really the Arbiter of Truth on any subject, unless you have a degree in your field, and you write poetry and an architect in your spare time. Constantly learning can help you become an Arbiter of Truth, but not always. Sometimes its knowing when to shut your pie hole and let people think for themselves. Individual liberties. That’s the basis of the United States of America, and it’s one of the best Constitutions that the founding fathers, after the Revolutionary war, created for a safety net that future generations wouldn’t have to worry about adding later on. Because the first Amendment allows us to challenge through books, films, video games, allow us to challenge tyrannical governments from taking over.
The people who hate Art the most are often people you can’t criticize. The media right now are pretending to be Arbiters when they have lost all touching with reality. And being an artist myself, I live in an insular existence. If questioning the media was part of my existence, I usually accepted my own thoughts and opinions over the large swath of the pubic. I would place libertarianism as the basis of questioning the media as part of America’s pride. Being an Arbiter of Truth is a burden, because you should also stay out of positions that involve your family members too. Looking at you, Chris Cuomo, Fredo.[ii]
But the narrative has always been controlled by the media, they can distort truth no matter what. Giving me no right to publish or release my books as I see fit, which is controlled by the leftist media corporations that down America at every turn. The publishers, or the Big Six, don’t want me to make fun of them either. I was never groomed to be published, and being on the outside of the publishing industry, they don’t even care who I am. Why would they care if they didn’t even know me or I don’t go to their parties.
But the Arbiter of Truth seems like a pendulum these days, as narrative only meant something that’s written in books. How naïve I was. The leftist media have really lost there way when it comes to Freedom of Speech. The media are the mouth piece of the left, and Antifa are the SS for the left.
This moral authoritarianism is why so many creative people are forced out of the entertainment business, because of a decade old tweet, or a film they made in the 1970’s. But this isn’t entirely all the industry’s fault either. Governments love to play the loving role once they realize they can coopt your art and your lifestyle to cater to New Yorkers and LA-ers needs, and have no damn clue of what happens outside there millionaire homes. The rich elites are scared of the art that independent artists make and the money that we can make from this. Don’t think this isn’t about talent. Money plays a role in how people around the art can leech off more talented artists without ever creating something that is genuinely good. That’s why individualism will always piss off the Arbiters of Truth
What does make sense is that New York and LA do not control most of the narrative anymore. If New Yorks publishing industry died on 9/11, and they censor speech everyday through spying on US citizens with the Patriot Act for terrorist activities. The publishing industry has no interest in telling patriotic stories or stories that are of genuine interest. Why would I want to be there when they don’t want me? The ability to hold your testament up to the narrative and say “you’re wrong” is what makes communication and technology a new force in the medium of writing and communication. There is no real Arbiter of Truth anymore, just Arbiters of dead dreams and aborted half-life stories that don’t work.
Art means different things today. It’s not just writing. It’s video games, YouTube, which are now currently, the main obsession of many people. I grew up with video games, and seeing them become a movie, is a revelation. But with the rise of video games, they are just as susceptible to SJW groupthink mentality with new hires that want to push diverse characters that are paper thin, with no development or flaws to overcome.
Disney’s remake of Mulan is a good example, as how the crew filmed near a Uigyer Genocide camp. [iii] But censorship can happen in any medium. China has strict laws against freedom of speech, and freedom of speech is important to the well-being of individuals who have the right to challenge and offend anyone they please. If the will to act against artists creativity can take place at a corporate level in America, and government in China, all the way up to video games, face an age old problem in a new era. How can we face an opponent, in any tale, be it a dragon, or a repressive government, can the hero succeed? Not in 2021, *President*Joe Biden’s America.
Governments are just as guilty as censorship as corporations are. They are one and the same, at this point. They have no interest in caring about writers or thinkers who dare buck the trends society holds dear. Artists, no matter what side, should be allowed to speak and produce and write, no matter how offensive you think they are.
If being daring is being ordinary, no one would be daring because it’s so unordinary. Hero’s don’t end up fighting the villain, they just sell out and become them. Not everyone should be daring. It takes a strong stomach to find yourself after you were cancelled or fired for your job, because of someone you voted for. What makes the media furious is that people like me speak my mind and call them a bunch of asshole, dim witted, overzealous, pig dick suckers who have lost touch with what average people want. I cancelled my subscription to the New Yorker in 2016, and I have been happier ever since.
I subscribe to the New York Post, merely to make the libs mad, and also read Infowars to get my news, because in America, everyone who disagrees with the left is a conspiracy theorist, too. Plus the New Yorker is where all the factual information comes from, and the writers there never masturbate on a live conference call, like Jeffrey Toobin.[iv] But he never got punished beyond a firing. But here lies another problem: he pretended to be an Arbiter of Truth. I think he might have forgotten to turn off the camera. That damn camera! Mark Zuckerberg must have spied on him![v]
But stories are what we tell, and many people in the industry tell many stories to help them sleep, just not good one. It must be easy living with 1400 stitch quilted sheets where there families are safe in there NYC pent houses. Plus eating succulent Kobayashi steaks ordered from Japan, and potatoes that aren’t spoiled or rotten on everyone’s plate at CNN and MSNBC. People with luxuries need false stories to help them sleep. They pretend they are the Arbiters of Truth. The writers of CNN must put Philip K. Dick and Arthur C. Clarke to shame, and he was a better story teller than half the goons writing up speeches for Don Lemon, Chuckie Cuomo, and the untalented jack ass celebrities being paid to tell regular Americans to shut up every night.[vi] I imagine those ratings of woke series and stories are downcast as of July 2021. Trust me, writers on high paid shows are garbage and the people who write it know they are garbage. They don’t care about story tellers, and I wouldn’t be here calling them out if they were any good. Besides, I’m not telling tales out of school.
And when did being mediocre become the norm in creative worlds? Did they forget that you have to come up with things you the author or creator thought. Go and copy and paste some more boomer. The Chinese love censorious unfunny untalented people.
As Jimmy Dore said about an old co-worker, “I don’t think we’re being censorious,” and he replied, “You were trained from this from when you were in fucking diapers”[vii] and they didn’t let Jimmy Dore in. I know a few prominent people who got far, and this does ring true for me. Being an outsider is hard when you can’t eat. But you learn to find out who will care and who won’t. It feels nice being a rebel, because at some point, it will pay off. Rebellion is only strongest if we all decide to stand together. And we can’t stand together if we won’t be daring and create culture that will stand against the tyranny of Social Justice against the Right and the Libertarians.
Sorry, not sorry leftists but you’re the villains. Go suck off Fidel Castro’s tombstone.
[i] Eco, Umberto. “The Prague Cemetery” Houghton Mufflin Harcourt. Boston, New York. 2010. Pg. 78-79.[ii] Chris Cuomo, the bane of existence, who was an American “news show host” saw his fate at the hands of the American public. With Chris Cuomo crafting speeches for Andrew Cuomo to read on the news attacking his sexual accusers, creates a foul disregard for the media itself. Not that he was an Arbiter of Truth to begin with. If the satisfaction of Andrew Cuomo’s demise is not only a joyous celebration, but for the death of 15,000 elderly constituents “to require nursing homes to accept Covid-19-positive patients when New York’s hospitals were overflowing, and then, to hide data about deaths of nursing home residents” going unnoticed in the American media, are biased itself. And not Arbiter’s of Truth. (https://www.statnews.com/2021/02/26/cuomos-nursing-home-fiasco-ethical-perils-pandemic-policymaking/). Fredo is the name given to Chris Cuomo because of a person who called him that, and the conversation was recorded and broadcast. Again, if the name fits, right?[iii]https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-55794071. This article also talks about the rape culture inside China. Xi Xinping is responsible for all the deaths in China and creating a pandemic. And they wore “suits,” too. Fuckers! The “suits” will be the last thing they wear. This is the article dictating the events surrounding the Disney fiasco, as the lead actress backs the crackdown against the Hong Kong protestors, too, as well as filming near a Muslim genocide camp, but “Disney has not yet commented” and probably won’t. (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-54064654.)[iv] Jeffrey Toobin was a journalist for the New Yorker. Here are various sources for extra related material about the subject matter. https://nypost.com/2020/12/15/more-details-emerge-in-jeffrey-toobin-zoom-masturbation-fiasco/.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/jeffrey-toobin-masturbate-call-cnn-b1863703.html.[v] The fact that this is here is because while many of the world likes Alex Jones, a media, biased as the left are, made the decision to ban Alex Jones when he was the one who found out about Bohemian Grove. When the animosity toward one media host who doesn’t somehow agree with everyone is a target for everyone. If the anger surrounding Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson was valid, why do so many people watch them? The media wants a Satan figure no matter where the erroneous people exist. I have no position on what the world might think of me, yet, but I have equal disdain for any platform that would seek to banish Alex Jones ro someone who hates groupthink. Be it democrat or republican, we are all targets to the media. If you hate the man, you didn’t do enough research on him. I think if I got my news from Alex Jones, I would be content to have my opinion and challenge him, and talk about it. I can’t live in a world where we don’t ever talk or discuss and write about what new ideas mean.[vi] I think it’s impossible not to be flippant about the disaster the American media faced from 2015 to the time of writing this article. The problem is people want to forget. The disposition of knowing all that happened is that I’m a witness. A witness against the American Media. Comedy did die with Trump, but the left took it along with them. Such a waste. They took the legacy of the Hollywood system, but not the craft. That’s a plus.[vii] Jimmy Dore is a comedian associated with The Young Turks who was ousted for supporting a journalist, Aaron Mate, who was accused of supporting a Syrian dictator, Assad. Also, he complimenting Anna Sarkosian’s dress for work, as he willingly apologize for a harmless comment that made a bunch of fags nervous. Personally, Cenk Uger is a homosexual. A slightly handsomer version of Harvey Weinstein without the artistic perceptions that Harvey Weinstein had. The exact quotes is from the Joe Rogan podcast.
