William J. Rockefeller. Andrew Carnegie. Elon Musk. Mark Zuckerberg. Shawn Fanning. Issac Newton. Walt Disney. Steve Jobs. Kanye West. All are brilliant and intelligent men who have contributed to culture and industry. Ranging from music, technology, transportation, all have their strengths and weaknesses as men. No man is perfect, and no deed that a man does should take away their accomplishments in life. A fair and just society should ask that meritocracy own the culture of the day. But in 2023, men, are subjugated beasts, as their primal instincts aren’t exactly front and center. In a first world society, being a creator, or artist, rules the day. And comics, such as indiegogo, is one stepping stone for culture war, or even a personal achievement. All of the above listed men have created achievements that will outlive them long after they are dead. Which leads us to the topic itself.
Andrew Tate, whose father is a chess champion, is a controversial figure in the Internet age. A few accomplishments, other than Hustlers University, a professional kick boxer, is now entering the arena of comic books. What makes Andrew Tate more interesting and savvy is that he is a recognizable brand, even more noticeable than Mark Zuckerberg. A comic, itself, has to prove that someone understands a visual medium, as well as using text to create a world that an audience can read and see, converging with the text in the boxes.
Top G, in its own right, probably more about the man himself, should have a place in the culture just as much as the world he wants to see in a visual form. Debating its story is once more not the topic, but deciding the worth of the comic is the. Value behind such a piece. As he has always said, “I don’t read,” can prick a few ears who do read. I am not that person because sometimes not everything can be learned in art or a book.
(Note: Top G is available through dngcomics.com)
Anyone has the right to come to the table as an artist, creator, etc, and should be bound to one duty. To create the art they want to create. Again, the conversations on Twitter that surround Andrew Tate prove even more hazardous, and would be far more destructive on their own. If a man like Andrew Tate is banned from discussion his notoriety and fame become even more valued, in the realm of his comic, and only create a stronger bravado that the world itself, should and can, see. What makes the world far better is the conclusive reasons behind it.
(Note: Here’s the full interview of Andrew Tate, where you can find out about his life outside of comics)
To see what the Top G has to say in comics, and help reach an audience he himself has personally pushed aside. But let’s see what the Top G has to say, and no matter what can happen, worse things have been created and sold from DNG publishers.
The complication is to allow speech, even if we disagree, reach everyone’s ears or eyes. Because nobody owns a word. Nobody gets to silence anyone. Not even Andrew Tate.
